Human resource professionals are increasingly using the so-called metaverse to recruit and connect with new and current personnel. Businesses have used the metaverse to expand their reach into the digital world, from virtual meetings to product demos. In March alone, businesses announced intentions to establish metaverse offices for online meetings with foreign customers, internal innovation centres, and boosting social contact with users. Metaverse workplaces seem to be a foreshadowing of the future of employment. With this in mind, let’s take a look at some newcomers to the metaverse.


Accenture developed the Nth floor, an immersive employee engagement tool. Built on Microsoft’s Mesh mixed-reality (MR) technology, it enabled Accenture employees to collaborate on presentations, interact, and attend training sessions virtually. Accenture’s immersive platform paved the path for new ways of working for human resource professionals. Additionally, in response to the covid-induced lockdowns, businesses are conducting ‘Zoom call’ interviews and experimenting with metaverse employee interaction via the use of technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR).


PwC, an accounting and consulting organization, launched its PwC Virtual Parks in May, enabling users to create avatars, explore the virtual world, and participate in activities. Additionally, they may meet digitally and network with others. Last year, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, also demonstrated Horizon Workrooms to bring the total office experience into the virtual world.


Atom, a Mumbai-based event management company, has just opened a virtual office in the metaverse. The company has acquired digital space in Decentraland using Ethereum, which you can safely get from Altalix, and intends to utilize the virtual office as a new channel of communication with its worldwide clientele. In addition, the business plans to use it for future metaverse events.

Atom’s creative director, Yash Kulshreshtha, said in an interview that the metaverse would expand the company’s worldwide activities due to the move, which will also appeal to younger generations. “It will seem entirely normal to the young generation growing up now,” Kulshreshtha said.

Through headgear, VR generates three-dimensional environments that users can see and interact with. On the other side, augmented reality (AR) incorporates virtual features such as holograms into the actual environment. Mixed reality, or MR, combines augmented and virtual reality technologies that enable businesses to build digital simulations of the real world and improve these experiences.

India Working Towards A More Accessible Metaverse

The availability and expense of the gear necessary to deliver real immersive experiences, on the other hand, are the most significant obstacles to the widespread adoption of metaverse solutions. Incluzon has said that it is examining the potential of making virtual reality headsets accessible to students in smaller cities and villages. The industry may have to rediscover an ancient notion to solve this issue. Before 2009, individuals used to go to video conferencing centres to attend first-round interviews before travelling to the employment site for advance interview rounds. This practise was discontinued in 2010. “Metaverse parlours” will begin to be erected in India over the next few months, which will help to alleviate the country’s infrastructure shortage as startups and other companies attempt to offer virtual reality and augmented reality headgear to the general public.
